Jeff Beckman, CAP, Founder
About Beckman Development Solutions
Jeff began his nonprofit career in 1986 at Briar Cliff University. Since then, the organizations, departments and boards led by him have raised hundreds of millions of dollars for program, capital, endowment, and special initiative support. His leadership success has occurred through customized strategic planning and intensive execution, both rooted in best practices, data, creativity, and strong relationship building within donor communities, boards of directors and affinity groups.
A lifelong Christian, Jeff's underlying philosophical approach to development and stewardship are ideal for Christian organizations. Yet, the majority of Jeff's professional experience occurred within secular institutions, including higher education, healthcare, public broadcasting and human services. Because of his broad background in various nonprofit sectors, several of which have national footprints, Jeff can offer insights into how successful organizations of all sizes and types can operate more profitably.

Today, while still serving full-time with The Salvation Army, Jeff is finding time to serve an advisor, teacher, coach and trainer to a limited number of clients.

My Story
Born and raised in a small town in the heartland of America, I learned the value of hard work, discipline and a commitment to excellence while working for my father, the owner of a successful farm-machinery business that served the agricultural community in Northeast Nebraska in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. For the past 40 years, I have applied dad's disciplined approach and high-quality service to my business of serving and leading nonprofit organizations. My primary professional goal over the years has been to elevate organizations to the highest level of excellence within their respective sectors. That goal has been achieved with The Salvation Army, March of Dimes, and educational institutions and public media at various times over the years. Each week for the past 40 years, I have dedicated 50-60, plus, hours to leading and building successful development programs and nonprofit organizations. During this time, I've also found time to coach youth sports, and remained active in church and community activities. Most importantly, beyond my Christian faith, my wife, Susan, and I have raised two grown children, and now enjoy spending time with our four grandchildren.
